BAGO DIVISION – PDF comrades attacked junta police and Pyu Saw Htee militia patrolling near Bridge No. 4/102, 103/5 Mile, on Yangon-Mandalay Highway Road in Kyauktaga Township at about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday (July 18).
Gunshots were reportedly heard after explosions were heard over the bridge, resulting in the immediate deaths of two police officers and two Pyu Saw Htee militiamen around 11:30 p.m. on the night of July 18.
“Explosions were heard near bridge No. 161 near the railroad telegram. Clashes occurred when PDF comrades encountered the junta patrol while laying land mines on the bridge. Two bombs exploded, and the bridge was also damaged. Only on the junta side were there casualties,” said a local resident.
Junta Police Colonel Lin Lin Htike, Police Aung Kyaw Htet, Pyu Saw Htee Soe Paing, and 101 KTV owner Nyan Wai Aung were killed during the attack, and some were admitted to Kyauktaga Public Hospital with injuries.
