BAGO DIVISION – 41 junta soldiers were killed, and over 40 were wounded during the July 19 battle that happened at Nan Za Village in Kyauktaga Township, Nyaung Lay Pin District, stated the National Unity Government – NUG.
Nan Za Village is located near the old Yangon – Mandalay Highway and just 100 miles away from Yangon.
On July 19, at around 11 p.m., around 400 junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militants launched an offensive with two columns near Nan Za Village, leading to clashes against the KNLA-PDF coalition forces.
The battle lasted over one hour, and 33 junta soldiers, including a captain, and around 48 junta troops, including the battalion commander, were wounded, according to NUG.
Among them, 20 are receiving special treatment at the Taungoo Hospital, and eight other junta troops who were seriously wounded are dead. During this battle, one comrade from the coalition forces sacrificed his life for Democracy, and another one was wounded.
Due to the junta council threateningly flying fighter jets around the village, the civilians are said to be fleeing to safety.
