KAREN STATE – In Kyainseikgyi Township, Karen State, KNU officially released a news report that the junta council spread false news and propaganda that the court and police station were attacked by the KNU.
On May 29, at 6:19 a.m., the No. 1 strategic hill based in Kyainseikgyi, led by Aung Myo Tun, fired 120 MM shells into the town of Kyainseikgyi and one shell exploded near the court and another near the police station. No one was said to be injured and only some buildings and roofs were damaged.
The forces under the coup leader Min Aung Hlaing have not only targeted the people as if they were enemies, but they have been systematically planning subversive strategies to gain political advantage. According to KNU, the junta council is carrying out cunning propaganda where they fired heavy weapons into civilian towns and villages, and claim that it was done by the revolutionary forces.
According to the junta council’s press release, it was falsely claimed that one of the two drone-dropped grenades hit the police station on Bogyoke Street in Ward No. 5 of Kyainseikgyi, damaging the roof tiles and that the remaining one fell on the roof of police constable Thet Aung Zaw’s house, lightly injuring his 19-year-old son in the back.
