MAGWAY DIVISION- Gantgaw District No. 1 Military Region, Batallion 8 and 9, conducted joint military training in the third week of March, according to Gantgaw District Battalion-8.
All comrades had already attended military training courses and this 10 days of (special) training was the first ever joint training to increase the speed of the war.
“This training aimed to increase the pace of the war and to give morale to the soldiers. They were trained as usual, and not including any special interventions,” stated Lieutenant Yankin of Batallion 8.
The 8th and 9th Battalions of Gantgaw District had been fighting together as the Kyaukhtu PDF unit since the revolution started. When they were posted as battalions under the NUG government, Ministry of Defense, they split into two battalions according to composition (as they were outnumbered).
Since the earlier revolutionary attacks on the military council until now, the two forces have been working and fighting together, and they have fought countless times.
