SAGAING DIVISION – Clashes occurred between PDF comrades and junta forces on Thursday, October 26, at 7 a.m. near Nyaung Pin Gyi Village Harbor, Salingyi Township, resulting in the deaths of four junta troops and the confiscation of one weapon.
The junta soldiers had set up a checkpoint and were extorting money from civilians, leading to the conflict.
“The junta soldiers attempted to extort money at the harbor leading to Monywa. PDF comrades fired upon six junta troops, and four of them were killed on the spot. One junta troop sustained an abdominal wound, and another took cover behind a tree. We couldn’t confiscate all their weapons, but we did retrieve one G3 rifle containing seven bullets,” said Battalion Commander Swan Thu Mg from the “Twae Yar Thingyine Dar Ma Sine” Group.
Both the group and its second company jointly carried out the attack, and in retaliation, the junta soldiers set fire to houses in Nyaung Pin Gyi and Htan Taw Villages.
