KAREN STATE – Karen National Union (KNU) announced on October 26 that the battalion commander of junta council was killed in the battle that took place in Kawkareik Township, Karen State.
During the battle that took place last Tuesday (October 24) in Kawkareik Township, 11 soldiers from junta side were killed, including Lt. Col. Nyein Chan Ko Ko, the commander of infantry battalion 207, according to KNU’s Brigade 6, Dupalaya District (Kawkareik).
The battle took place between the junta column who have entered Sin Kone village, eastern part of Kawkareik and KNU Brigade 6.
In that battle, it was reported that 8 junta soldiers, including the commander, were injured in addition to the battalion commander of junta military according to the report.
