MAGWAY DIVISION – The Military Office of the People’s Defence Army (PDF), National Unity Government (NUG) announced on Thursday that battles continued for four days in Saw Township of Gangaw District and the junta council lost 18 of their soldiers.
The announcement covered the battles from July 14 to 17 that happened at Myinkar Hill, Kyeinchaung fork and Nagarmauk Chan Hill in Saw Township.
PDF Battalions 8 and 13 of Gangaw District, 5 and 19 of Pakokku District and 1 of Magway District are said to have jointly attacked around 130 forces of enemy junta troops from junta divisions 55, 77 and 101 that launched an offensive into the region.
In addition, PDF Battalions 3 and 5 of Gangaw District, and 1, 2 and 5 of Minbu District attacked around 180 junta forces from divisions 55, 77 and 101 that arrived near Akyikadin Village in Saw Township, killing an estimated 15 junta troops.
Meanwhile, PDF forces were reported to have returned without harm.
Also in the areas at the border of Kanpetlet and Saw Townships, PDF and CDF (Chin Defence Force) coalition forces attacked the junta army, leading to battles on July 16 and 19 that resulted in many junta casualties.
Local sources also reported that five members of the PDF coalition forces also fell at the battle near Yinkae Village in Saw Township.
The terrorist junta council has sent in two columns into Saw Township and one of the columns is said to be heading from Saw Township to Kyindwe in Kanpetlet Township and the military tension in Kanpetlet is reportedly intense.
