MAGWAY DIVISION – A reinforcement convoy of the terrorist junta council was blasted with mines on the Pakokku-Yesagyo Road section and one of the vehicles was damaged, according to an official from Young Force – UG Team.
Revolutionary forces intercepted and detonated mines on the terrorist junta convoy on Sunday (January 28) afternoon and the revolutionary soldiers reportedly fell back after junta forces returned fire.
“There were seven vehicles in total. We missed some cars in the front and only managed to catch one car in the blast. The Pyu Saw Htee base at Sinmaye Village was attacked early yesterday morning (January 28). We attacked the cars that went to reinforce that base. We detonated five mines on the car in the back. We originally planned to open fire on them (after the mine attack) but had to retreat as we didn’t have the upper hand. The car was also well shielded against bullets. Lately, they would cover the cars with shields like an armoured vehicle. So, we had to fall back when they returned fire after we detonated the mines on them. The engine died on the car caught in the blast. It was towed back to Pakokku on that night. We haven’t received a clear report regarding the casualties of the dogs (junta forces),” said the official from Young Force – UG Team.
The number of terrorist junta casualties in the attack is not confirmed yet but one of the seven junta vehicles that returned to Pakokku was said to have been destroyed and towed back there.
