MYANMAR – The terrorist junta council was said to have ordered the private schools in Myanmar to teach their students that the National Unity Government (NUG) and the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) are terrorist groups.
Yangon Division Education Office (DEO) called a meeting with private school owners in the past few days and told them to inform their students with these false propagandas and ordered them to follow the instructions, according to a private school owner from Mingaladon Township.
“We were called for a meeting and told to teach our students that NUG and PDF are terrorists and they also threatened that they would ask the students during their inspection. They are holding meetings with us to order one thing after another. I don’t know what will come next,” he said.
Moreover, the junta council threatened that the teachers appointed in private schools should be thoroughly checked and the teachers who joined the civil disobedience movement (CDM) must not be appointed.
In addition, the private schools must fully comply with the current rules and regulations established by the junta council and must not do anything related to the revolution, Yangon DEO officer stated.
The orders mentioned above are currently only announced for private schools and there is still no mention of NUG and PDF as terrorist groups in public schools.
