BAGO DIVISION – Myo Myint Aung alias Aung Aung, a notorious leader of junta backed Pyu Saw Htee militia in Min Hla City was attacked at his house, according to an official from Battalion 3802 of Tharawaddy District.
On Tuesday (March 26) at about 2:30 in the afternoon, at the compound of his house on Setkyikon Road in Ward No. 8, Min Hla, Myo Myint Aung (aka) Aung Aung, the leader of the armed Pyu Saw Htee militia, was shot 12 times.
“We first shot him twice inside his compound and he ran away screaming. Only after shooting him ten more times, he fell dead at the entrance of his house,” said an official from Battalion 3802.
The official added that when the Pyu leader was shot, his wife, who was inside the house, ran out of the house and threatened the revolutionary soldiers with scissors. But she was not a military target and revolutionary forces let her go only with warning shots.
Myo Myint Aung alias Aung Aung, who was shot and killed, was in close contact with the junta council’s Minhla based Infantry Battalion 1. It has also been found out that there are many people who have been arrested and imprisoned and whose homes have been sealed because of him.
In addition, he was also previously a member of the Union Solidarity and Development Party, and after 2022, he worked as the chairman of the People’s Pioneer Party (PPP) in Minhla City for some time. Then he left the party and served under the junta council as a leader of the armed Pyu Saw Htee.
It has been announced that Battalion 3802 of Tharawaddy District conducted the operation jointly with Company 2 & 3 of the battalion and Min Hla Township People’s Defence Force to eliminate the Pyu leader mentioned above.
