KAREN STATE – KNU Central Executive Committee Member Hpado SawbTaw Nei said that the KNLA coalition forces temporarily withdrew from Myawaddy City and that the junta council’s Aung Zeya operation column, which is assaulting, will decisively attack.
Yesterday, on April 23rd, some soldiers of the junta council raised the flag of the junta council when they were brought by the border guard forces BGF into the 275th regiment compound of Myawaddy, which was occupied by the KNLA. Hpado Saw Taw Nei explained the process by which KNLA troops have temporarily withdrawn from Myawaddy.
He continued “I would like to explain a little bit about what happened in Myawaddy. The junta council troops were called by the BGF and they brought the flag of the junta council to the 275th regiment. Because of what happened, especially at this very critical time, we had to temporarily withdraw the KNLA joint forces from Myawaddy to prevent them from falling into the enemy’s trap.”
Currently, the coalition forces led by the KNLA will decisively attack and destroy the junta council’s Aung Zeya reinforcement column, which is the main reinforcement column coming to Myawaddy City. He went on to say that according to the current situation, we must fight for the end of the military dictatorship on a nationwide scale, not just look at Myawaddy.
“On the other hand, we will attack and crush the reinforcements without hesitation of the imperialist war dogs and all their cohorts who are planning to recapture the city of Myawaddy with a national-level Aung Zeya operation. In our country’s military dictatorship system and any dictatorship system, our direction is not just looking at this small plot of Myawaddy City. No matter how many difficulties and crises there are, we will all rise again and fight together with our people until the end of this unfinished journey. I would like to make it clear from here that we are not only fighting for regime change, but for system change, which is to change all the corrupt systems on the other side, and we will be fighting in a focused and upright direction,” said Hpado Saw Taw Nei.
The KNU officially announced that the KNLA-led coalition forces had attacked and occupied Myawady town on April 11th.
