YANGON DIVISION – The junta council conducted medical checkups for youths called up under the conscription law at Mingalaradon Hospital and prepared to portray civilians as welcoming the youths.
On March 28, the youths selected to serve the junta council will assemble at Division and District points before heading to Mingalardon Hospital for medical checkups.
“The junta council will spread propaganda suggesting that civilians are welcoming the youths forced to serve. Junta staff and soldiers’ family members will greet them with gifts, all to be recorded,” said a junta source from Yangon Division.
Selected youths in Yangon will undergo medical checkups on March 28 and then be required to stay at their respective battalions, serving the junta council starting in May after Thingyan.
