BAGO DIVISION – A resident said the fighting continues to intensify around Tawwi village in Nyaung Lay Pin Township, near the old Yangon – Mandalay highway, which is only over a hundred miles away from Yangon, and the junta council is threatening by hovering with warplanes on July 21.
He said that since this morning (July 21), the military council has been continuously firing heavy weapons in the vicinity of Tawwi village, and the sounds of battle can be heard.
“The fighting is intensifying. Including the hovering of the planes. They have been shelling heavy weapons continuously since morning,” another resident said.
The military council was on the offensive with all its forces, and the people of 5 villages had to flee from the war because of the airplanes flying over them.
On July 19, in the battle of Namza village, although about 400 troops were deployed from the junta’s army, 33 of them were killed, so the military council with heavy losses, set the village on fire and killed 3 villagers, according to a local.
Fighting has been going on near villages in Nyaung Lay Pin District such as Tawwi, Pan Tin Gone, Ingon, Thamin Inngon and Namza since last month.
