SAGAING DIVISION – Junta forces disguised in PDF uniforms burned down the school at Chipar Village in Shwebo Township and a local civilian was also injured by their gunfire, reported local news sources.
Around 4 a.m. on Saturday (August 20), said junta forces invaded the south and north Chipar Village and their shooting injured a resident of North Chipar Village. The resident is receiving medical treatment, reported Shwebo Township True News Team.
Then at 7:30 a.m., they raided the school at South Chipar Village, detained a large number of locals and confiscated the mobile phones then set fire to the school.
“Around 150 of them came in under cover of heavy artillery fire. Residents of Chipar and Kyipwekone Villages in western Shwebo had to flee,” said a local.
Residents reported that junta soldiers raided the village while disguised in PDF uniforms.
It is said that over 8,000 civilians from south and north Chipar Village, Maetaw Village and Kyipwekone Village were forced to flee due to said junta raid.
Similarly, junta offensives in Tabayin Township has forced civilians to flee their homes, reported Tabayin Brotherhood Team.
According to UNOCHA statement on April 19, over 1.8 million people in Myanmar have been displaced by armed conflicts.
