KARENNI STATE – Locals said that a junta council’s convoy was attacked at the entrance of Loikaw and there were casualities.
On July 11 at around 7:00 a.m., a convoy of 15 junta military vehicles was intercepted by the Karenni Joint Forces on the Loikaw-Mobye Road.
“Only seven vehicles came back into the city. Due to suffering huge losses, they opened fire with heavy weapons to the Nwar Lawo and Kayantharya Villages, and there were damages to civilians and homes,” said a Karenni military source.
The relevant forces have not released any information related to the attack on the military council yet. However, due to the heavy weapons fired by the junta council, a villager from Nwar Lawo was hit and lost his life, and a person from Kayantharyar Village and some people from Konetha Village were injured, according to a member of a Loikaw social assistance team.
Therefore, Karenni forces have urged the people to take care when traveling on the Loi Kaw – Loi Lin Lay section and Loi Kaw – Kayantharyar – Mobye road.
The junta council troops, which are struggling in the Karenni region, are often sending reinforcements from Shan State to Loi Kaw through Pin Laung-Phekon-Mobye to reinforce its soldiers.
