MYANMAR – The second interim meeting of the Second Central Committee of the National League for Democracy took place today, July 29th, at 9:00 am via the Zoom platform.
The meeting was attended by 44 central committee members, 10 central reserved committee members, 20 regional and state executives, and 18 members of the central affairs committee, totaling 92 participants.
National League for Democracy Chairman Mann Jonny chaired the meeting, during which members from various regions and states, including the Central Working Committee and the Central Affairs Committees, presented and discussed reports and advisory papers.
They also discussed finding all possible ways to release President Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and all political prisoners as soon as possible, with no exceptions. It is crucial to include the NLD president and state counselor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in resolving the political problems arising from the coup d’état by the gang of generals, which violates the existing constitution. The meeting reached a consensus on seven decisions, including extending the setup of the Nationalities’ Affair Committee for bilateral coordination and building mutual trust with native ethnic groups for the future development of a democratic country.
Furthermore, after approving the business report of the Central Working Committee, all submitted suggestions were recorded during the second meeting of the Second Central Committee.
