KAREN STATE – Karen National Union (KNU) proclaimed that since the junta council has carried out continuous firing of heavy artillery toward Brigade 3 territory of KNU, Nyaunglebin District, there have been civilian casualties.
On Monday (November 13), as the junta troop fired the heavy artillery into Hsaw Hti (Shwekyin) Township, Nyaunglebin District which then landed onto the fields in Shan Su Village (opposite bank of Chaungwa village), hitting a 54-year-old man working in the field who died on the way to the hospital.
Moreover, the junta troops had forcibly abducted some civilians and fired heavy artillery recklessly on November 11 and 12.
The junta forces stationed at the gate along the vehicle route of Tha Htay Kone Village in Kyauk Gyi (Ledo) Township reportedly detained two villagers from Nga Phal Inn Village who were travelling to buy tools for motorcycles without any reasons and still have not released them.
Moreover, the junta troops fired eight heavy artillery shells toward the villages in KNU Mu (Mone) Township on November 12, and the artillery shells were said to have landed in Thin Nhee Kyaung, Wat Tuu, Kyee Pin Pout, Thingan Pin and Thaung Gyi Villages.
In addition to the artillery explosions, the shell that landed in Thin Nhee Kyaung Village injured two men and caused damage to the houses.
On November 13 evening, the junta council’s heavy artillery shelling landed in Gway Kone Village and hit two women.
Furthermore, KNU notified that the junta council has continuously shelled heavy artillery into the villages in Nyaunglebin District where military situation intense daily and they have abducted and extorted the civilians who went to shop in the town, and also confiscated the items on them.
