BAGO DIVISION – Locals reported that the atrocious junta had sent its fighter jets and attacked military helicopters for out airstrike attacks over the entire area of Nat Than Kwin, in Kyaukkyi Township, injuring civilians and destroying civilians’ houses.
On June 6, at around 4:15 a.m., encounters had been raging at Nat Than Kwin, Yae Twin Kone Gyi, Bon Ta Taw villages and Nat Than Kwin police station, and the clashes were ongoing until 7:00 a.m. Locals also said that the Sittaung Bridge connecting between Kyaukkyi and Nat Than Kwin towns, was broken down at around between 6:30 a.m., and 7:00 a.m.
After that, the genocidal junta’s attacked helicopters and fighter jets have been firing since 7:00 a.m., on June 6.
“Hospitals, houses and residential wards in the surrounding area of Nat Than Kwin police station were bombarded. There was a lot of damage and also many injured people. In the hospital, the nurse’s husband’s thigh was hit by a bullet. The brutal junta’s air forces indiscriminately fired into the civilians’ area. The atrocious junta’s attacked military helicopter and fighter jets and were constantly taking-off from their airbase to Nat Than Kwin area,” said a resident.
Currently, there are at least 15,000 displaced people in Nat Than Kwin Town and they are fleeing aimlessly. It was said that they were unable to take any belongings and had to run with only one piece of clothing due to sudden of junta’s airstrike attacks.
A local resident said that the bloodthirsty junta council had carried out targeted airstrike attacks with its attacked helicopters and fighter jets to the vicinity of the broken Sittaung Bridge (Nat Than Kwin) area.
