MAGWAY DIVISION- Locals reported that three bombs blew up on Tuesday (July 25) at the corner of the Public Relations and Information Office and USDP (Union Solidarity and Development Party) office of Chauk Township.
According to a local news source, a bomb went off when the military council army and police arrived at the corner of the Public Relations and Information Office at around 7:00 a.m. to search for the bomb that they received tips about. The station chief (Deputy Police officer) and a corporal were reportedly injured.
“We heard gunshots and then the bomb blast. Ambulances came to take the injured Deputy Police officer and the corporal. Another bomb went off at the USDP office at 5 p.m. on the same day but the situation is still unknown.”
A person close to the administration reported to the media that a deputy police chief and a corporal were injured in a bomb explosion.
“The joint team of military and police received news about the planted bomb and went to the scene. The army shot the bomb (explosive) to blow up but another bomb went off near the place where the Deputy Police Chief was standing and he got injured. His current condition is serious,” reported the informer.
After the two injured officers were sent to the hospital, junta troops checked the USDP office again at 4:00 p.m. Another bomb exploded then (a third time) according to people close to the administration.
Junta troops were inspecting cars and motorcycles near the junta offices of Chauk Township after these three bombs went off, according to locals.
