MAGWAY DIVISION – An official of Gangaw Township People’s Administration Body (PAB) said that they have warmly received the 191 people who escaped from North Khinyan Village that is under control of junta subordinate Pyu Saw Htee militia (Pyu) in Gangaw Township.
After the People’s Defence Forces (PDF) attacked and captured the police station at Min Village in the township on November 3, the junta forces and Pyu militants at Kan Village and South Khinyan Village in Gangaw Township absconded their stations while 191 people in North Khinyan Village escaped and took shelter under the Township PAB, no longer daring to stay under the junta council and Pyu militants.
It is said that the 191 people consist of 83 men and 108 women and that Gangaw Township PAB and PDO are receiving them after scrutinising their identities.
“Currently, there are 191 people. More are expected to arrive. But they cannot leave the village as the Pyu militants are watching them,” said an official of Gangaw Township PAB.
Those who ran away from the Pyu Saw Htee controlled village have reportedly been settled in IDP camps after checking if they have committed any crimes and basic rations, blankets, warm clothes and other supplies are being supplied to them in a timely manner.
