SHAN STATE – The TNLA (Ta’ang National Liberation Army) reported on Tuesday (August 29) that there was a fierce battle almost all day long during August 28 when the terrorist military council army attacked the TNLA camp near Khomon Village in Muse Township, near the Myanmar – China border.
On August 28th, the terrorist military council troops under the 99th division, 421, 423 and 577 infantry columns and militia units such as Xiao Hao, Lonhtan and Myoma 1,2, & 3 formed five columns and launched an attack near Khomon Village, which is only 1.54 kilometers away from the Chinese border and the battle was intense from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The 123rd regiment of the terrorist army based in Namphaka also fired at the scene of the battle with heavy weapons no less than 8 times, and the 420th and 417th regiments under the 99th division of the terrorist army fired heavy weapons to Phayar Mountain near Selan Village from where they were stationed in Muse township. It was reported that the monastery in that mountain burned down due to this shooting.
There were also battles fought in the Lashio Township between TNLA and the junta council’s army. The terrorist army, together with its subordinate Pyithusit militia, used military vehicles in the offense but reportedly suffered many casualties.
TNLA and the terrorist army clashed 15 times in August and there were also clashes in July.
