MON STATE – Two junta cars came from Kamarwat area, Kamarwat township, Midong town were attacked with mine, causing all the junta policemen run away, 2 cars, weapons, ammunition and military utilities were seized, said an information officer of New Mon State Party-NMSP(AD), Naing Vanya Mon.
On March 14th, at around 6:00 p.m., two police cars coming from Kuanhla were attacked with mines, and all the policemen in the car ran away. 2 cars, weapons, ammunition and military utilities were confiscated. 2 cars were also burned and cleared, said Naing Vanya Mon, the spokesperson of the New Mon State Party-NMSP(AD).
“We do not know exactly the number of force of the junta side, possibly about 10 junta forces as they came with 2 cars. All junta policemen ran away due to the attack. We seized 2 guns, burnt down 2 cars, phone and other military utilities were captured,” said Naing Vanya Mon.
The spokesperson of the New Mon State Party-NMSP(AD) explained that the situation of the junta policemen affected by the attack is still under investigation and is not yet known.
A local news source reported that Junta police chief Min Htay Maung Maung was with the junta convoy which was attacked with mine. He was carrying an M-22 gun and two cartridges. About 200 bullets were lost. While the police cars were driving from Thanphyuzayat to Kamarwat town, they were attacked by mines on the Mudong – Thanphyuzayat road between Kwanhla village and Yangdaung village in Mudong township.
