THAILAND – Mr. Kaung Min Thant (aka) Rapper FL3xx from the band, The Synk, has passed away on January 1 evening from a kidney disease in Maesot, at the Thai-Myanmar border, stated people close to the deceased.
Mr. Kaung Min Thant (aka) FL3xx was the sole person to escape the junta raid on an apartment in 44th Street, Bothathaung Township, Yangon on August 10, 2021 during which five UG comrades jumped down from the flat. He had hid in the attic of the apartment.
“He has long been suffering from deteriorations to the nerves and eye sight due to the damages to the kidney. It just wasn’t noticed. He was sent to the hospital when he got into a seizure but was said to be in poor condition. He was referred to the general hospital but passed away after getting into his third seizure,” said a person close to him.
Mr. Kaung Min Thant was born in 2003 and he was passionate about rap music since he was a child, according to his friends.
After escaping from the 44th Street raid, he left behind the life of a UG and moved to KNU Brigade 6 territory. He then moved to Thailand in 2022 and has been contributing to fundraising events by performing his music. He was 22 years old at the time of his passing.
Five male and one female comrades who survived the 44th Street raid were taken away by junta forces and are in prison after being sentenced to sentences from five years to twelve years.
