MANDALAY DIVISION – A timed detonation attack was carried out near the junta council troops stationed in front of the Mandalay Yadanarbon University, stated Dutiful Citizen Team.
The detonation reportedly went off at around 3:30 p.m. on July 19, in commemoration of the Martyrs’ Day.
“We are not a team based in Mandalay. We just carried out the mission to show that we are not staying silent on July 19. We have been trying since the morning but due to mine errors, had to try again in the afternoon and succeeded with the detonation at 3:30 p.m. We dropped the sound grenade while the junta soldiers were inside the bunker. There were no casualties. It was merely commemorative, to remind the city of the revolution,” said Dutiful Citizen Team.
The team continued that as it is the holiday season for the students, the attack shouldn’t have harmed the students and that they picked a spot away from the students for the attack.
Locals said that junta forces blocked the area and inspected the passersby after the blast.
An official from Dutiful Citizen Team also apologized to the citizens for the sound of the blast and also to the local defence teams for not communicating in advance regarding the attack.
The junta regime had set up tight security posts in crowded places of cities including Yangon for the 76th Martyrs’ Day on July 19.
