AYEYARWADY DIVISION – According to military sources, at least 100 military council soldiers from the Ayeyarwady Division who have not yet completed their basic military training are being sent to the front lines in northern Shan state.
It was learned from a source within Light Infantry Battalion 306 that on October 3rd, the Southwestern Military Command instructed to send at least 60 trainees who were undergoing military training in Pathein’s LIB 306 military unit to fight in northern Shan State.
“First batch of soliders were sent to Northern Shan. As they need more manpower, they sent those who attended the training. It was said that they were instructed by South Western Command. More soldiers will be sent after they were asked to go through the training as soon as possible,” said an internal source of LIB 306.
In the same way, 40 military trainees from Pathein’s Infantry Battalion 38 were sent to northern Shan State, and the remaining 60 trainees will be sent to the front again very soon, according to an army source close to IB-38.
“About 40 of those who are under the military training in IB-38 have been sent to Northern Shan. The rest will be sent again, depending on the training situation,” said a man close to IB-38.
