MON STATE – KNLA and PDF allied forces attacked with mines the junta troops who were providing security for a military convoy on the Yangon – Mawlamying Road near Aluu Village in Bilin Township on May 5 around 9:00 p.m.
About 50 junta troops who were providing security for a convoy of around 20 vehicles including four armored cars, which were reinforcements from Kyaikto Township to Karen State were attacked and three junta soldiers were killed and three were injured, according to the Thaton PDF.
“The junta troops who were providing security for the convoy of four tanks heading from Bago to Thaton positioned at the foot of Alon Taung Pagoda in Aluu Village fired heavy weapons into the village first. The allied forces attacked with two mines simultaneously at 9:00 p.m.,” said Mr. Aye Min Tun, an official from Thaton PDF.
After being attacked, the hideout junta troops attacked back with small weapons, and the junta troops on the side of a pagoda in Win Pyan Village also fired five rounds of heavy weapons.
There are frequent attacks on the junta council convoys on the Kyaikto-Thaton Road. KNLA – PDF allied forces attacked the junta troops who were providing road security in Bilin on April 29, killing four junta troops.
