YANGON DIVISION – Locals reported that there had been a bomb blast last Wednesday (June 27) near the Ward (L) administration office in North Oakkalar Township.
“At around 8:35 p.m. on June 27, there had been an explosion in front of the Ward (L) administration office at the corner of Waybagi and Rose street, but no casualties have been reported,” said a resident.
“After the explosion, the entrance and exit roads to Ward (L) administration office were closed down and the junta forces conducted inspections. I didn’t hear any news of arrests. Some people in this ward support the military,” said the local.
The ward (L) administration officers do not take any action for the people, but sell plots of land, charge landlords for signing tenancy contracts (in front of households’ authorities to be recognized) and arrest young people for no reason, and demand money to release them.
Since the coup, North Oakkalar Township Ward (L) administration office group is at the top rank for torturing, oppressing, and threatening the people as the junta council wishes.
